Long Board

Oinker

Inspired by the progressive milestone Velzy "Pig" design from the mid-'50s through early '60s that allowed quicker pivots and faster turns. This is the first classic longboard that I was truly attracted to. It was the big beautiful hips that captivated me and I went on quite a journey to study its design elements and all its benefits. My heart was set on picking up where they may have possibly left off to create a more maneuverable single-fin longboard that would project speed out of turns and negotiate tighter sections. Keeping to its distinct outline, I widened up the nose a touch and added a blended concave to give it some lift while reducing swing weight giving it nice balanced pocket nose rides. Then the major changes besides skeg type and placement are the modern 60/40 rails leading to a hard edge out the tail making this a very lively board in and out of the pocket AKA "Hybrid Version". I wouldn't call it an evolution as it still resembles a Pig after all, but rather an adaptation to the modern surfing approach.

* This board is also available with classic 50/50 rails.
