Glider
Pangea
There is something uniquely different about this "Pangea" Glider and it's obvious. It's the intensional hourglass-shaped outline. The thing about Gliders is that they are long, and when you design a board that's 11 feet long, it's nearly impossible to have a nice continuous curve without making the center really wide. But if we limited the maximum width of the board to be sub 23" which was the goal here, we would end up with a very unattractive paralleled outline, especially if we wanted the nose and tail to be somewhat on the fuller side. The solution here was to create an in-cut at the near center area which gives it the groovy hourglass appeal. Interestingly, that little loss of foam contributed to big gains in overall performance. Now we have the curves exactly where we need them, up top and in the hips. This makes your turns feel like you are on the rail of a board that's a whole foot shorter in length thus gaining maneuverability, and eliminating the need to place any major bottom concaves. So by keeping the bottom slightly rolled, the board rides through the water nicely instead of trying to plane on top of the surface making it fast, smooth & stable allowing you to have long swooping simplistic flow, resulting in a gliding experience we can't seem to get enough of. All in all the outline is modern. The bottom is classic. The rails are 50/50 streamlined and the crescent tail is just downright perfect. If you happen to see me or one of my friends on one just ask us for a sample. It's a sensation you don't wanna miss.
