Asymmetrical
Velox Asym
Whoooaa! I applaud your curiosity and mental willpower to resist the genetic attraction of aesthetic balance. The "Asym" concept has been around for almost 7 decades, making it far from any industry gimmick. Shortly after weeks of extensive research on the asymmetrical's origin, use, and application, I headed straight to the shaping room, mapped out some theories, and broke all the rules of symmetry. Excitingly over a few long days! glassed it all up and paddled out before it was even fully cured. During the first few waves, l immediately noticed how responsive the rail-to-rail transitions were and how positively sensitive it was both front side and backside. Everything just clicked. It was enlightening and now I'm all for it. Interestingly, although the design process may be complex with endless variables, in contrast, they're effortless to surf when done right, which is the whole point of a custom-tailored, style-specific surf craft. And for that reason, I believe the best way to unlock the true potential of asymmetrical board designs is to work closely with your dedicated hand shaper.
